Introduction
Lifyinos ("we", "our", or "us") is a personal life management application designed to help you reflect on your day, set goals, and track your progress across different areas of life. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
What Data We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information: Your email address, display name, first and last name, and phone number, provided during sign-up.
- User-generated content: Tasks, reflections, daily logs, goals, and notes you create within the app.
- Voice input (optional): When you use the Voice Journal feature, Lifyinos accesses your device microphone and uses on-device speech recognition to convert your speech to text. The audio is processed entirely on your device and is never sent to our servers or stored. Only the resulting text transcript is saved as part of your journal entry.
- Health data (optional): Steps, sleep duration, and workout activity sourced from Apple HealthKit (iOS) or Google Health Connect (Android). Health sync is off by default and requires your explicit consent.
- Device and usage data: Basic technical information such as device type and operating system version, used solely to improve app stability.
How We Use Your Data
Your data is used exclusively to:
- Provide and personalise the Lifyinos app experience.
- Generate AI-powered insights and day summaries (processed server-side via Google Gemini).
- Send optional push notifications for reminders you configure.
- Improve app performance and fix issues.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party.
Permissions We Request
Lifyinos requests the following device permissions:
- Microphone — required for the Voice Journal feature. The microphone is only activated when you explicitly tap the voice input button. Audio is never recorded in the background.
- Speech Recognition — required to convert your spoken words to text for the Voice Journal. Processing is performed on-device by iOS. The audio itself is not retained or transmitted.
- Health & Fitness (Apple HealthKit) — optional. Requested only if you enable Health Sync. Used to read steps, sleep, and workout data. We do not write data back to HealthKit.
- Notifications — optional. Used solely for reminders you configure within the app, such as tomorrow planning prompts.
All permissions are optional except where noted, and can be revoked at any time from your iPhone Settings.
Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored in Supabase (hosted on AWS ap-northeast-1). Sensitive user content is encrypted using AES-256-GCM with per-user encryption keys managed server-side. We apply industry-standard security measures including encrypted transit (TLS) and access controls.
Third-Party Services
We use the following services, each governed by their own privacy policy:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and storage (supabase.com/privacy)
- Google Gemini API — AI-powered day interpretation and insights
- Apple HealthKit / Google Health Connect — health data (only when you enable sync)
We do not share your data with any other third parties.
Data Retention
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account. Upon deletion, all your personal data and user-generated content is permanently removed from our systems within 30 days.
Children's Privacy
Lifyinos is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data via Settings → Edit Profile.
- Delete your account and all associated data at any time.
- Opt out of health data sync at any time via Settings → Privacy.
